Paul turns 76…..rides and sings with Corden

it’s the clip….and actually, at 23 minutes, it’s much more than a clip….that everybody is talking about.  the new segment of James Corden’s Car Pool Karaoke done with Paul Mac in Liverpool.  yes, they sing Penny Lane while driving on Penny Lane.  and all kinds of other fun stuff.  if you haven’t seen it, just goog it up and enjoy the sentiments.  plenty of folks report tears of joy with this one!

and let us note……on June 20th, Paulie turned 76.  and he’s still looking and sounding pretty darn good.  a testament to his lifelong vegetarianism?  and another Rock God who turned 76 on 6-20-18……none other than Brian Wilson.  how about that?  two of our greatest songwriter/bassists, born on that last day of spring a long time ago.

Full Moon Singers

in the west, there are three birds that are known for singing during the night, and often especially on the full moon.  These are the yellow-breasted chat, the sage thrasher, and the mockingbird.  all are terrific songsters who, when they’re in the mood, love to show off their stuff.

In the next couple of nights, you just may hear one of these guys cut loose.  if so…..lucky you!  (on the night of tuesday the 26th, true to form, the local mockingbird here in the ‘hood went ALL NIGHT with his singing. an amazing performance. this bird started at 11, burned right up until dawn. and then…..he sang some more. he’s obviously feelin’ good about summer!)

The Doom of Dean?

(for all us old gaffers who remember ole Diz…..who used to call the Game of the Week on CBS every saturday afternoon with Pee Wee Reese.  back in the day when there was exactly ONE, count it one baseball game per week on tv…..usually from Yankee Stadium! one of Dizzy’s trademark lines–“As you seen on your screen”)

Will the nightbirds sing?

here in the West, there are three lovely birds that just may burst forth in song during the night, especially a full moon night.  they are the yellow breasted chat, the sage thrasher, and the mockingbird.

maybe you will hear one of them cut loose and jam during one of the next three evenings.  if so…..lucky you!

 

FLOTUS proves–she can suck, too!

so FLOTUS melania floats on into McAllen Texas, ostensibly to bring some basic First Lady comfort to the bewildered and frightened and freaked out kids being held while separated from their parents.  ok, fine.  she’s there to at least LOOK like she cares.  she’s supposedly there as an ambassador of CARING.

so why the hell is she wearing a jacket that says on its back “I REALLY DON’T CARE. DO U?” uh…..say what?

SAY WHAT???????????????  i mean…..is that a……joke?  or what?  OF COURSE IT’S NOT A JOKE. she was acting as an agent for Dum Dum…..sending a message to The Base. it’s his clumsy, ham-fisted way of telling the world to Kiss My Ass because you know he absolutely HATED to sign that back off order!)

so anyway……bizarre.  baffling.  twisted.  i wouldn’t have a problem if some bold American smooshed a coconut cream pie in her mug.

wow, the economy must indeed be really churning, as our fearless leader endlessly twits, because under Mr. Orange’s spiritual guidance, it appears that the United States is all jacked up to make a rather bold move into the kidnapping industry.  It’s off to a truly impressive start, racking up some excellent stats (2,300 kids!) in no time at all.

of course, this entire ooperation has proceeded with the kind of malevolent incompetence that truly sets the Trump Administration apart, a trait that has quickly become perhaps THE hallmark of Batshit 45.

The result is nothing less than an Abomination. An Abomination with a capital A.

if you don’t like us being political, that’s fine.  we understand.  do what you must.  it’s a free country.  but understand this.  we come from a background of FM radio that was not afraid of leftist politics.  Stations that called out Nixon for the raging jerk that he was.  stations like KSAN, KMPX, KOME, KFAT, WBCN, WXRT, WNEW, and all the others.  and holy guacamole, President Spanky makes Nixon look like Thomas Effing Jefferson. so we aren’t going to be mute.  we aren’t gonna be Swiss.  we ain’t neutral.  ok?  got it?

this evil bullshit would NOT be happening if Hilary Clinton was the president.  you know that’s true.

and it’s why we could stand to have a FEMALE president. May it happen in ’20.
