Starting at midnite this Sunday night, thru midnite Monday (10/31 “Nevada Day”) The Jive will be airing “Bruce’s Bucket” which is a collection of several thousand songs curated by Our Fair Leader Bruce Van Dyke. Mixed in with Bruce’s music will loads of voice quips from Bruce’s air shifts on KTHX-Reno from the mid-90’s, and some tributes from fellow DJ’s. Only on JiveRadio —BE THERE!

Bruce’s Cosmic Send Off will be celebrated Sunday October 9th at a shindig for family & friends. We will be broadcasting some part of the evening on the Jive, just the way Bruce would like it: loose & goosey. Times will be announced here soon.

SUNDAY 10/2: Our main outbound link is broken and may not be fixed until Monday. Our website players and song trackers are out until then. Meanwhile our main stream will be filled with the similar sounds of our junior station, KDAN, enjoy!

Sometime this Winter, our signal on 101.5FM covering The Dalles and Hood River area of northern Oregon and southern Washington, will go away. The license has been purchased by another broadcaster. This saddens us greatly. We had much higher hopes.

On the air for barely three years, the poor child lost the bulk of what little local business support it had in it’s first year and then COVID hit, wiping out virtually all income other than a handful of our dedicated listeners. To them, and to the great folks at Schulten’s Motors, who stuck with us through thick and thin, we thank you for supporting this fledgling experiment in freeform radio for the Gorge. Our Jiveradio stream will continue to crank out the same great mix, hopefully for years to come.

17sep22 – William ‘Bruce’ Van Dyke (aka: BVD), our partner in many a screwy venture, including Jiveradio, died yesterday from complications stemming from an attack of a rare strain of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. More info will be posted here as it becomes available from his family.
