These ‘front-of-house’ recordings by Jeff Cotton are of the sold-out two night engagement at John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel Casino in Sparks, Nevada captured Todd and the Wrecks in prime form both nights. Radio station KVMR in Nevada city California issued a two CD set for use as a fundraiser. Both recordings have dropouts around the 75 minute mark when the recording CDs had to be replaced. Thinking about my brilliant, visionary friend Todd Snider this morning. This Austin City Limits may have aired in 1996, but it was taped in 1995, just weeks after the birth or our eldest daughter. I have been in some good bands. The nervous wrecks, with Todd leading us, was one of the best. And while Todd has gone on to do even greater things, a treasure this time, however, ragged and crazy it was. It was us against the world. And that’s a good feeling… When you’re doing something that makes people happy and feeds their hearts. We built bridges,not walls. Watched a little of this this morning, was inspired to continue on. 30 years goes by fast, brothers and sisters.
