Our friends at KIDE radio in Hoopa, CA are surrounded by the No. Cal wildfires now having consumed over a quarter million acres. When I asked if there was anything our listeners could do, I heard that they could use face masks. It seems like a small thing, and it is, but it’s what they say will help. so much for the theater of the mind! and yes, indeed, we may be due for a new staff lunch/barbecue/happy hour sometime soon….at least before the aliens land!

 

Bucket action 7-31-18

well, today was one of those mornings where the Bucket of WTF-IT was out of its mind with eclectic goodness.  a tip of the hat to the work of bossjock Randy Shuffle, who negotiated these often tricky waters with great dexterity and skill.  in other words….he got luckier than heck!  and yes, i realize it’s really easy for me to like the Morning Bucket…..after all, it’s MY damn bucket!  i put all the songs in it, so i better like it! but that said, take a look at this playlist and tell me this isn’t at least one of the 10 best Old Fart Radio Shows on this Crazy Rock today…….

Sister Tiny (yes, that sister tiny from KFAT) does her Song and Dance wednesdays from 10am to noon.

Hayseed Don Darue has a schtick called The Risky Biscuit Hayseed Hoot.  actually, it’s a show.  weds noon to 2pm

Diane Michaels entertains greatly in her Jive Cafe.  you can get served from 2pm to 4.

all three shows repeat on saturday.  tiny from noon to 2, don 2-4, and di 4-6.

The 2nd of July

and here’s an hour of what it sounded like in the newly rejuvenated BVD Song Bucket, which once again was operating with one hand tied behind its ephemeral back, with only 800 songs available to it last week, resulting in a fairly stale situation.  this was due to an unfortunate techno problem, which has been corrected, and once again, the Big Bucket of Wathefucket is back to full strength, with about 3,000 tunes to play with.  tunes like these…..heard from 850 to 950 on monday the 2nd of july you’re a woman more than any one i’ve ever known……
