Coming soon to a radio speaker near you—

2pm 8apr22- Our man Cole and his able assistant Al, both helping out from KODL-AM The Dalles “Country’s Greatest Hits”, got the KJYV audio up to snuff today and it’s at the most power ever. Great to be back and groovin’ in the Gorge!
Thanks to all who support our excuse for real radio.

Problems at The Dalles/Hood River Jive outpost KJYV 101.5 were resolved last Friday with the very helpful efforts of Jive’s Cheaph Engineer Tom Werner, Day Wireless’ Tech Brad Briggs (above) and local radio KODL-AM’s Cole Malcolm (not pictured). Much thanks to all of them for putting their shoulders to our wheel to help us get back on the air.

While 101.5FM is now at full power, our audio is very low by mistake. JUST TURN UP YOUR KNOBS! IT WON’T HURT! WE PROMISE! —But seriously, our man Cole has volunteered to go up to the site this week and wham it up good & loud for y’all. So…HANG TIGHT BUTTERCUPS!

How to Tune In: Circle is available across the United States on many cable providers’ channel line-ups or you can use your TV’s digital antenna. Circle is also available on many streaming platforms including Peacock, the Roku Channel, XUMO and more. Check your local listings and discover more streaming options here.

So sorry to report our “new” Bend booster died only a few days after going on. Repairs expected next week, as soon as the new roll of duct tape and box of paper clips get here.

KJYV 101.5FM is back on…but still needs some tweaking. If you’re in the area, let us know how it blows (sounds, and from where…). Write Lazlo at: laz@jiveradio.org
Old men & old tech serve up the ol’ Jive in Bend:

Here our trusty 70-something Tower Monkey Dan Mooney installs the microwave transmit antenna last November. This shoots Jive audio from it’s transmit location (Grizzly Mountain outside Madras, OR) about 20miles to our booster location in Bend.

Here our trusty 70-something ‘Cheaph Engineer’ Tom Werner dusts off a 40-year old piece of donated gear and tunes, tweaks & cajoles it into service last Monday to serve up Jiveradio in downtown Bend for the first time ever!
Here Tom tries to nap, but forgot his rug.
Also much thanks to Todd Urick in Sacto for doing the engineering for us to get the license, Don Mussell in Hawaii for doing all the frequency coordination work, Cliff Peck for donating the antenna and helping with tower space, and Yellowknife Wireless for hosting not only our internet service at Grizzly since 2018, but now also hosting our booster location in Bend. They are a great small local company helping make Jiveradio for central Oregon happen!
