It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that James Boyd K7MKN passed away yesterday (Friday 5/20/22), of a heart attack, at his home. In ham-speak he’s now a “Silent Key.”
James was a brilliant engineer, a gentleman, a fast friend, and one of our cadre of engineer allies that make the Jiveradio signals propagate into the aether. He helped us at Grizzly (KJIV) and Stacker Butte (KJYV) until very recently. He was a radio operator in the worst of the Viet Nam War (repeatedly sprayed & burned with Agent Orange) and came back to be one of the most respected field engineers in the Pacific Northwest. Jivelandia was lucky to have him in our sphere.
R.I.P. James Alan Boyd.
